Use social media to communicate during an emergency

In preparation for Winter Storm Juno, many businesses and schools in the Northeast are closing early today. Most organizations are using social media to communicate with their customers.

JunoAs we reported in 2012, after Hurricane Sandy, it’s particularly important for hospitals to be able to distribute time-sensitive information to social media from a mobile device. Some people are using ‪#‎blizzardof2015‬ on Twitter when posting about the storm. We’ve even seen people posting about which grocery stores have milk and bread. As communication professionals, we see this as progress!

We hope our clients, friends, family, and everyone in the affected area are safe and warm!
