IHOP created National Pancake Day as a way to inspire pancake lovers around the nation to help them raise money for charity. I love pancakes, so naturally, I love this holiday. One of the tools we use for social media promotions is Shortstack. Their logo is a stack of pancakes with a pat of butter on top. On Twitter, I asked Shortstack if they were offering any deals in honor of National Pancake Day. They asked me to send them an email, and they would see what they could do. To my surprise, and delight, they sent me a T-shirt. Thanks Shortstack!
This is a perfect example of how brands can interact and IMPRESS customers simply by listening on social media. It’s also a perfect example of how your brand can piggyback on another brand’s PR. Shortstack stepped up to the plate and earned a fan.
By the way, we used Shortstack to run a Facebook promotion for our client, Darling Clementines. It worked really well!
Now I’m hungry for pancakes and clementines!
